Abstract acrylic and dye painting on cotton canvas by artist Martha Lloyd.
A bright red pinwheel style flower in the center of a square canvas, against an intentionally distressed style background of textured black diamonds and streaks of red and green.
Delicate wooden trim has been added to the sides of the canvas. While the wood has a few minor chips (pictured), they are easily repairable with the option of also removing the trim in favor of a frame of your choosing.
Original signature and markings by the artist can be found on the back of the canvas.

Martha Anne Lloyd was born in Washington, D.C. in 1927. An avid artist, Lloyd completed a BFA degree at the American University in Washington, D.C. At age 63, she began to pursue a master’s degree in painting. Her sense of color and movement led her to create many vibrant and dynamic artworks, many of which were exhibited in shows across the US and earned her recognition in a number of respected publications.
