Recycled industrial press ink lends Latour's work a saturation of colour and textural detail that is unique to the medium. Through careful manipulation he is able to craft paintings that have intricate coral-like surfaces. 'Winter in the City II' is the second of a pair of pieces that evoke the bustle of a city with the whiteout of a winter's day. This piece evokes David Milne's style of using white space to represent the season while Latour's signature colour saturation comes across in the bold orange and green accents through the piece.
