Description Qiu Ting (B.1971) Series Deep Valley No.1 50 by 35 cm Dated 2015 Chinese ink on gold paper Mounted and framed Signed Qiu Ting (Qiu Ting in Chinese) on upper right, with one seal of the artist The artwork comes with COA Artist Biography Qiu Ting was born 1971 in Luhe, Guangdong province. In 1992, he enrolled in the traditional Chinese painting department of China Academy of Art to study landscape painting, and graduated with a master's degree in 2000. In 2004, he earned his doctorate in fine arts from Tsinghua University. He is presently vice-president in the traditional Chinese painting department of Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, China. Major exhibitions include:“Mountains and Flowing Water” Shanghai Art Museum, Shanghai, China(2004); Chengdu Biennale, Chengdu, China(2005, 2011); The 5th International Ink Painting Biennale in Shenzhen, China(2006); “The same world”,Beijing, New York, Tokyo,(2007); “The Blue Brittany”, Sichuan Art Museum, China(2007); Contemporary Chinese Ink Painting Exhibition” National Museum in Dresden, Germany (2008);“Learn from the Ancient”,Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, USA(2010); Qiu Ting, Xu Jian’s Hand Scroll and Album Dual Solo Exhibition, Today Art Museum, Beijing, China (2011); View” Hand Scroll and Album Exhibition, Guangdong Museum of Art, China(2010,2012); International Ink Painting Biennale of Shenzhen, Guan Shanyue Art Museum, Shenzhen, China (2013); Mountain and Flowing Water, Art Museum of Nanjing University of the Arts, Nanjing, China(2014); South & North- National Center for the Performing Arts, Beijing, China (2015)….. His works have been included in a variety of exhibitions at home and abroad and collected by many art organizations, including the Palace Museum, National Art Museum of China, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Toronto Museum (Canada), Brittany City Federal Committee (France), Zhejiang Art Museum, Guangdong Museum of Art, Shenzhen Art Museum, CAFA, China Academy of Art, Tsinghua University, Jingxi Hotel, etc. Qiu Ting is the representative of the artists who has been involved in deep research and sentiment on the “Art and Studies of Chinese Ancient Civilization”, which helped him develop a mind that yearns for transcendence and lofty realms, in the pursuit of the ancient soul and spiritual implication.
