We are pleased to offer for sale this sweet small oil on Canvas signed painting by guitar master and artist Kim Simmonds. This is one of only a few signed paintings that are still available. As you probably know, Kim passed away not long ago, he was a great artist, guitarist and founding member of Savoy Brown. Kim was a long-time friend who will be missed by fans and all that loved him worldwide.
Considered one of the architects of British blues, Kim Simmonds was the founder and lead guitarist of the internationally known Rock and Roll and Blues band SAVOY BROWN. He formed the Savoy Brown Blues Band in October 1965 and early gigs included performing with Cream and accompanying John Lee Hooker. On stage in America, the group was supported by Rod Stewart and the Faces and the group KISS opened for Savoy Brown in the early days.
The surface texture and buttery feel of the paint is remarkable on this oil painting. Kim's paint was applied very thick with lot's of texture, therefore most of Kim's paintings were acrylic which dry fairly fast, this is one of the rare oil on canvas paintings which required a good amount of time to dry.. The small Framed painting measures 12.5 x 10.5" canvas measures 10"x8". Kim's paintings have an excitement to them. They are filled with color, Texture and spontaneity.
His work evokes a personal style and fascination with his instrument of choice...The Guitar. This painting conveys his love of painting with his love and appreciation of music and are works of art that you will be proud to add to your art collection.
He has brought the energy and emotion that is evident in his guitar playing to his canvases.

Kim would always sign his paintings before he was ready to ship them. At the time of his passing Kim had paintings in his studio that were not yet signed. This is one of those paintings. Included with the purchase of this painting is a certificate of Authenticity letter signed by Kim's wife, stating that this is one of the paintings from Kim's studio that was not yet signed but it is 100% guaranteed to be an original painting by Kim Simmonds. I have included an image of 5 paintings that we just received from Kim's wife. This painting along with 4 other paintings. Two are signed and three are unsigned.
