Rose Freymuth-Frazier Employing the techniques of the past in the service of contemporary exploration, I seek to add a fresh voice to the sometimes venerable, sometimes dusty and archaic tradition of large-scale figurative painting, while subtly addressing the mythology, objectification and subjugation of women. My subjects are at first glance close to home-new mothers, friends, lovers, artists, dancers-but are then quickly placed at a distance via edgy modification, rigorous technique, minimal contexts and composition, and idiosyncratic use of color. I am also interested in social presentation, artifice, and simulation as they relate to my subjects. I hope to peel away a gossamer thin layer of reality, not just to document the real but also to reveal what might be. BIOGRAPHY Given my restless history, it is curious that I became a figurative painter in New York City. My maternal Grandparents fled Hitler's Germany in the late 1930's. This artwork depicts a small pond in a summer or spring mountain landscape in the background. The artist applied different tints in rectangular areas starting from the center. It may suggest different seasons, but it's not, since the vegetation doesn't change. The sunset sky is unaffected by these differences of tint. Two of these areas are filled with mosaic patterns, one light blue and the other yellow. The surrounding area is made as a carpet of leaves with strong veins. On top of these leaves are leaf-shaped patches of sky. Four large leaves also cover the landscape.

Kory’s work is an expressive depiction of quiet or intimate moments, all taken from his personal memories, fantasies, and ultimate desires. He often indulges in daydreams of nostalgia, and chooses to paint scenes where he can find pure bliss. His hope is that others who view his work will experience the same for themselves.
As a child growing up in Texas, Kory’s fondest memories are spending the summers under the wide-open sky in the backyard swimming pool and family vacations to Florida beaches. After receiving his Bachelor's degree in the Arts & Technology program from the University of Texas at Dallas, Kory made the move to Los Angeles, where he fell madly in love with the historical architecture and diverse culture that make up Southern California.
