About the Item
In today's challenging world, we all crave a tranquil moment. Some respond to the call of the sea, watching the waves lap upon a soft sandy beach in nature's own repetition. The sand pipers echo our feelings as the tension slowly melts away and this contemporary marine landscape envelops us with the bounty that comes from the warmth of sun as it penetrates a clear aquamarine sky. Born in Taiwan, China, artist Chieh-Nie Cherng began drawing as a child, attending Taiwan's leading art school, Taiwan National Academy of Fine Arts, under the tutelage of distinguished Chinese artist Yushuan Shao. Cherng graduated magna cum laude from Montclair State College after relocating to the USA in 1981. Best known for her delicate florals, birds and still lifes in watercolor, Cherng has turned towards oil painting in recent years, applying the same sensitivity as to form, color and light. Cherng has shown her work in numerous juried shows and prestigious galleries along the eastern coast of the United States. This relaxing seascape is professionally gallery wrapped with the returns painted to suit the adjacent imagery; this original oil painting has an equally appropriate custom, white washed with silver frame to reflect the ever present light throughout the work or art.
