Description:
This expressive oil painting by French artist Fanch Lel captures the tranquil charm of Dinan, a historic riverside town in Brittany. Titled La Rance à Dinan, the piece centres on the region’s iconic stone bridge, arched elegantly over the calm waters of the River Rance. Behind it, steep hills rise into view, dotted with cottages and a turreted structure that hints at the town’s medieval heritage. The artist employs a palette of dusty blues, warm creams, and touches of mauve and ochre, lending the work both atmosphere and a nostalgic softness.
