About the Item
"Sea and Sky" Oil on Canvas, 60 x 46 Inches, is a gorgeous, large beach painting of the shoreline at sunset dominated by a dramatic sky of blues, grays, lavender pink and white, with brilliant light peeking through the clouds. The lower third of the painting is devoted to the beach with aqua/blue/white water rolling in. Two companion paintings, "Sea and Sky in Moonlight" and "Sea and Sky in Hazy Sun" are equally forceful nocturne. The three paintings are sold individually or as a diptych or tryptich.
This painting is not framed. Framing is not necessary as the sides are painted.

MacNeille has an amazing ability to paint water and sky and the romantic effects of light at all times of day. Her subjects extend far beyond her native Massachusetts to include an equally impressive series of paintings of Niagara Falls both small scale (12 x 12 inches) and large (48 x 48 inches), snow scenes and landscapes.
