Woodland Tapestry, 1970s Vintage Forest Landscape by Mildred Nordman
Beautiful vintage forest scene titled "Woodland Tapestry" by Mildred Nordman (American, 1904-1996). This landscape uses a gorgeous 1970's color palette of warm earth-tones, that are layered using painterly Impressionist brushstrokes for a lovely dappled effect.
Signed "M. Nordman" lower right corner and on verso.
Displayed in rustic wood and giltwood frame.

Framed size: 33"H x 40"W x 2"D.
Mildred Nordman majored in art at the University of Iowa. She worked as a fashion illustrator in Los Angeles and taught at the University of Hawaii. She settled in Santa Cruz, California. Working in oil, watercolor, and acrylics, she paints landscapes in the Santa Cruz area.

Forest Tapestry is an original Trevor Waugh oil painting. The earth tones throughout are broken up by the highlights, giving the piece a rich texture, particularly regarding the forest floor.
Trevor Waugh was born in 1952 and grew up in London. Trevor studied at The Slade School of Fine Art from 1970 -1974 (BA) under the guidance of Sir William Coldstream, Professor of The Slade at the time, Patrick George, Philip Sutton, David Hockney, Euan Uglow and Bernard Cohen. During his time at The Slade he was invited by Sir William Coldstream and Patrick George to exhibit alongside them at The Collegiate Theatre at University College, London, 1971. He was also a contributor to The Young Contemporaries Exhibition at The Royal Academy 1972.
