This contemporary landscape painting of a tree was created by Peter Hoffer, respected in the international art world as a fine contemporary artist for his ethereal, atmospheric landscapes. Reminiscent of the great romanticists of the 19th century, Peter Hoffer’s landscapes are a blend of realism and impressionism. His series of tree ‘portraits’ imbues each tree with a distinct ‘personality’ accentuated by his process. Hoffer uses scratches, markings, paint drippings, and thick coats of resin to add character to each mixed media piece. The result is thoroughly modern. This horizontal landscape offers a commanding view of the surrounding countryside-verdant green fields and a turquoise blue sky.
