About the Item
Riccardo Magni: 1886-1964. Well listed artist born in Italy and studied in Paris before moving to United States in the 1930s. He has an auction result high of $6625 for a smaller portrait painting. This fabulous Central Park piece is a great slice of NY city history. It depicts the famous Bethesda Terrace and Fountain in all its busy glory. Painting is oil on canvas measuring 37 inches wide by 24 1/2 high. It is signed lower right and title and signed and dated 1940 on reverse. Condition is very good but could probably use a light cleaning. Don't miss a rare opportunity to own a magnificent vintage Central Park painting at an affordable price!
