About

Andy Warhol, The Gamechanger GAME CHANGER by artist Brayden Bugazzi reinterprets Bystedt's portrait of Andy Warhol through complex collage work. Bystedt worked with Bugazzi on the embellishment. In this iconic image Warhol wears Marilyn Monroe glasses and is holding a film role -similar to the roll of film Bystedt used. Karen Bystedt: Karen Bystedt, founder and photographer of The Lost Warhols brings to life one of the greatest art icons of the twentieth century. Shot at ‘The Factory’ in New York City, Bystedt was a student at NYU, working on a book on the top male models of the era, when she cold called Andy Warhol. Andy himself answered the phone and agreed to a rare sitting with Bystedt in the conference room at 'The Factory'. Bystedt went on to publish four books. Having found the negatives in 2011, long lost since the initial shoot in 1983, in Andy's spirit, Bystedt conceptualized making Andy into the art by collaborating with some of the great artists in the street and pop art genres of today including Peter Tunney, Speedy Graphito, Gregory Siff, Bradley Theodore and Chris Brown. Permanent collections of the Lost Warhols may be found at The Andy Warhol Museum, the Armenian Museum of Modern Art, the Hearst Foundation, the Astrup Fearnley Permanent Collection and in the private collections of Prince Albert of Monaco, Tomoasso Buti, George Lopez, David Caruso and the Dean Collection (Swizz Beats) among others. With Murals located in Los Angeles. California as well as Houston, Texas. Brayden Bugazzi: In his artistic pursuits, some might think taking your time to produce something is counterproductive to staying profitable. He hears the noise, people saying that you can’t just only produce a low number of new original works a year, but he blocks it out. The reason is to really do one thing, yes that one thing that is truly great in ones petty excuse of an existence might just take some time mashed in with technical knowhow, along with some clever conceptual ideas fused into the framework . He thinks of myself like Christian Bale getting ready for the role, and really embodying the character, watch the machinist some time if you want to know what getting into the role is. He likes to get old books at my favorite used book shop, watch old movies, get magazines online, so that he can complete a full spectrum tribute work to the Pop Icons I choose to portray in my artworks. He knows that he is not going to produce at some huge level of works ready to be funneled into thousands of trendy spots all over like some of these artists living the baller lifestyle. Although many consider my works to be a luxury item, for him just being able to produce works on an elevated level is what drives his desires, and he is always so appreciative of everyone that has made this possible. Trust in him to really focus on delivering some great work, and if you have not seen it in person, feel free contacting us on locations his work is on display, because it looks amazing in person, and the photos can only give you so much of what it looks like in the real world. Signed and Numbered. Each artwork will be shipped with a Certificate of Authenticity from The Lost Warhols Collection.
