About the Item

Siesta is an original print realized by the Italian artist Giuseppe Tampieri in 1988. Original mixed colored serigraph. Hand-signed by the artist on lower right. Numbered on lower left. Edition 98/150 Very good conditions except for some shadings on paper and some light pencil signs. This beautiful colored print represents a nude woman lying in a moment of rest. The bright colors used by the artist make the composition a real piece to collect! Giuseppe Tampieri (Lugo, 1918 – Faenza, 2014) was born in Lugo di Ravenna on March 9, 1918. From his early childhood in Faenza, he revealed strong aptitudes for art and attended the "T. Minardi" drawing school. He completed his artistic studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence where, in 1941, he obtained the teaching qualification. He exhibited for the first time at the Trade Union Exhibition of Ravenna in 1936. Since then he has participated in the most important national art exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale and the Rome Quadrennial. Tampieri has illustrated books and published his writings on art in newspapers and magazines. Member of various artistic and cultural institutions, he has been an Academician of Merit of the Ligustica Academy of Fine Arts of Genoa since 1987. After moving to Genoa in 1950, he remained there until 1982. He currently lives and works in Faenza (RA).His works are found in numerous public and private collections in Italy and abroad.
