About

IVER ROSE (1899-1972) NANAY POSES c. 1945. Lithograph on TAN paper. Signed and titled in pencil. Edition unknown but rare. No other example located. 15 1/4 x 9 inches sheet 18 x 14. Iver Rose did several strong lithographic mages of black figures and labor subjects. The print offered here is more linear than some but has a wonderful poignancy to it. From WHO WAS WHO IN AMERICAN ART by Peter Falk: Born in Chicago, Illinois, Iver Rose was a painter and lithographer who lived in New York City from 1923 to 1929, Chicago from 1930 to 1955, and Springfield, Massachusetts and Rockport from 1955 to 1972. He studied at Hull House in Chicago, the Art Institute
