Portrait is an original xilography, realized in mid 20th Century by Marguerite Callet-Carcano.
The artwork is dated 1969 and hand-signed.
Provenance: Vente de l'atelier Bruxelles 1969
Good conditions.
Marguerite Callet-Carcano was an Italian-Belgian graphic artist, who illustrated books like Drame by Iwan Gilkin (1926), Les Chimères by Georges Rency (1928), René by François-René Chateaubriand and a reprint by Benjamin Constant. In addition to the xilograph technique, she also used linoleum. She engraved the portrait of Charles De Coster for the book La vie et le rêve (Ed. Du Hibou 1927).
