Biography
Tsukasa Yoshida (b. 1949) is a modern Japanese woodcut artist. He comes from the famous Yoshida artistic family and is the son of Toshi Yoshida and grandson of Hiroshi Yoshida. He belongs to the third generation of the renowned Yoshida family, which has played a significant role in the development of the art of modern Japanese printing.
Currently, Tsukasa Yoshida directs the Yoshida Hanga Academy, founded by his father Toshi Yoshida in the village of Miasa, located in the Northern Alps of Japan. This academy was an important center for teaching Japanese woodcut printing in the postwar period
He is not easily distinguishable from his ancestors in talent and art form, but he has a very personal style. He is a master of terrestrial and lunar landscapes. These prints show nature, often without or with few human elements, and create very strong atmospheres.

Paper dimensions: 24.25 x 35.5 inches
A fresh and unfaded woodblock print showing a view of cherry tree boughs heavy with glowing blossoms before a vista of rolling hills with stylized Japanese pine beneath a luminous, golden sunset.
Morihiro Sato graduated from Musashino College of Fine Art before studying under the printmaker Joichi Hoshi (1913-1979). Sato’s work focuses on the beauty of nature, particularly that of trees. Through the medium of woodblock with inclusion of metallic pigments, his delicately atmospheric prints evoke a sense of gentle sense of wonder.
