Very good conditions.
The artwork represents a very beautiful view of Siena. The light of the sun defines the volumes of the buildings, and the street is animated by two human figures. The façades of the buildings are realized with delicate and refined strokes.
Louis-Auguste Leconte de Roujou (Blois, 1863) a French painter and etcher. Louis Leconte de Roujou studied art in Paris under Gigoux. He regularly exhibited his work at the Paris Salon between 1850 and 1870. Over the course of his career, Leconte de Roujou both etched and painted views of various locations in France, Italy, and Spain.

Louis Auguste Leconte de Roujou was a French painter and etcher. He studied art in Paris under Jean Gigoux. He regularly exhibited his work at the Paris Salon between 1850–70. Throughout his career, Leconte de Roujou both etched and painted views of various locations in France, Italy and Spain.

Charles Meryon (sometimes Méryon, 23 November 1821 – 14 February 1868). He was a French artist who worked almost entirely in etching, as he suffered from color blindness. Although now little-known in the English-speaking world, he is generally recognized as the most significant etcher of 19th century France. His most famous works by him are a series of views powerfully conveying his distinctive Gothic vision of Paris. He also suffered from mental illness, dying in an asylum. Meryon had sketched in Athens, Algiers and other exotic places he had visited, and by late 1840 decided to take lessons in drawing from the Toulon...
