Making a cameo appearance in many of Boston-based Heather Wells‘s rooms is a soft and subtle light, a mood setter than enhances the shadings of classic hues, like the pink in this Manhattan pied-à-terre.
To balance the sophistication of the molding, Wells opted for vintage French seating from Dennis & Leen and a bureau plat from Dessin Fournir. Anchoring the room is a contemporary coffee table from Ochre with a mercury glass top, framed by a Venetian-style chandelier from Jan Showers above a painterly carpet below.
“The centerpiece is the antique Persian Mashad rug from Doris Leslie Blau,” says Wells. “It was the springboard for everything that followed.”
