Guy Fleming Lipscomb, Jr. (April 11, 1917 — December 31, 2009) was a business owner, chemist, civic leader, philanthropist, artist, author, teacher, and star collegiate athlete. In his later years, he became a noted painter working in acrylics and watercolors and was both a member of the Southern Watercolor Society and a Signature Member of the American Watercolor Society.
Lipscomb was born in Clemson, South Carolina. He won numerous awards in his lifetime including the Order of the Palmetto presented by Governor Richard Riley and the 1982 Elizabeth O’Neil Verner...

Charlotte Huntley might have been a renowned graffiti artist – her earliest work consisted of drawing on walls. But fate intervened and she learned to control these urges with a formal education at Scripps College, Chouinard School of Art, and the Los Angeles County Art Institute. These early tendencies reemerged not just in painting, but in other artistic ways as well, to the benefit of community theaters in the San Francisco Bay Area and Chicago. She spent years as a professional puppeteer and set designer, and developing her own unique watercolor painting style. Charlotte’s use of pointillism. This watercolor and ink painting is by the noted Scottish artist, Thomas Gladstone Middleton (TGM) Guise (1916-1984). He received instruction at the Edinburgh Academy and went on to study art at Edinburgh College of Art under Thomson Adam Bruce, Royal Scottish Academy (1947-1949). Guise also traveled and exhibited in the U.S. This particular work was exhibited at the Los Robles Gallery in Palo Alto, CA in 1968. The painting is unframed on artist's board. It is in very good condition with no flaws to note.

About the artist:
Jerry Opper was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 5, 1924. He moved to Los Angeles with his family in 1933. After graduating from Hollywood High School, he worked in movie studios and attended art classes at Chouinard Art Institute. In May 1942, Opper was drafted into the army and was then able to study at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center while his outfit was stationed in Colorado. Later he was sent to Guam and was discharged in December 1945.
Opper returned to Chouinard and his work in movie studios until 1947, when he moved to San Francisco. He enrolled as a full-time student at the California School of Fine Arts (now SFAI) and received his diploma in June of 1950. Om Prakash Sharma (born 14 December 1932) is an Indian painter, visual artist, professor, writer and sitarist based in New Delhi, India. He was bestowed with National Award for Painting of Lalit Kala Akademi in 1969, by the President of India. Sharma has won All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society's Annual Art Exhibitions thrice in 1966, 1967 and 1969, and has been awarded with multiple awards at various state exhibitions.
Sharma was born in 1932, in Bawal, Haryana. He attended Meerut College where he graduated in drawing and paintings in 1951. Sharma earned The National Diploma in Fine Arts in 1958 from Delhi Polytechnic with First Class and Distinction. Cornelia Schulz (b. 1936) lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area. For close to 50 years she has honed her skills in abstract paintings of complex shape and color. Her early education in the arts began at the Los Angeles County Art Institute in 1954 through 1957, the heyday of the California Ceramics Revolution. She studied sculpture in clay and wood with Renzo Fenci (1914 – 1999), and drawing from Herbert Jepson (1908 –1993). She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting (1959) and her Master of Fine Arts in welded steel sculpture (1961) from the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI).
