City of Surprises is created from an original photograph taken from Greenwich Park. It features one of my favourite views of the London skyline - boasting some of the city’s most famous landmarks in a single line with one small difference - for legal reasons. The London Eye, Shard, BT Tower, St Paul’s Cathedral, and the Cheesegrater are all there, alongside one building that I’ve been asked not to feature in my work by its lawyers. Can you spot it? I love the shapes of the view’s outline so I have replaced the building that shall not be named with the head of shark. The ‘new’ London skyline is then laser-cut into gold mirror. City of Surprises is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 3 weeks.

Haworthia Fasciata is a limited edition still life print by Kerry Day. Reduction linocuts are printed from one piece of lino, cutting it again for each new colour in the design. All the prints for an edition have to be printed before moving on to the next colour, because once the lino is re-cut you can’t make any more. Depending on how many colours are use, at the end there may be very little of the lino block left uncut.

Contemporary artist, Jayson Lilley, is available at Wychwood Art. Jayson Lilley has worked at the forefront of printmaking for many years. His approach to the modern landscape isunique and fresh, in both technique and materials. Lilley’s work is knownfor its urban and architectural focus, zooming in on familiar landmarks andreproducing iconic vistas and structures from the metropolis. Hisinnovative printmaking practice combines silkscreen, painting and collagetechniques to construct vibrant scenes that are always accompanied byexpansive skies and which play on salience and colour.Lilley’s most recentcollection explores some of London’s more natural vistas, as hecontemplates the relationship between nature and the urban landscape. Inthese pieces, he combines silkscreen print with copper leaf and handdrawing to dramatic effect.Lilley graduated from the University for the Creative Arts in 2000 with aFirst Class honours degree in Visual Communication. He had an award-winning career in design before focussing on his artwork, and hisbackground in design is ever apparent in his visual style and methodology.He has exhibited widely across the UK and internationally.
