About the Item
A rare and attractive Chinese bronze "garlic head" vase with an encrusted patina, Western Han Dynasty, 206 BC - 25 AD, China.
Of classic form, the bronze vase is set on a short, splayed ring foot supporting a body of flattened globular form, rising to a tall, narrow neck, and surmounted by a six lobed "garlic head" mouth.
The bronze with an allover dark verdigris patina.
The body with one area of repair and stabilization, with associated patina loss. The near opposite side also with a small area of patina loss.
