An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Chinese Export Silver bowl; an addition to our Asian silverware collection.
This exceptional Chinese Export Silver bowl has a plain circular form onto a plain circular swept, spreading foot.
The body of this antique Asian silver bowl is embellished with chased traditional oriental chrysanthemum floral and foliate designs, all on a matte background.
The decoration to the body incorporates a large shield shaped vacant cartouche to one side.
The upper portion of this impressive bowl is encircled with a plain applied moulded border to the incurved shaped rim.
The hallmarks struck to the underside of the bowl include:
Origin mark: Shanghai (??)
Maker's mark: Bao Cheng
Branch name: DE JI
Artisan silversmith mark: Fang (?)
Condition
This antique Asian silver bowl is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
The chased decoration is all very sharp.
The CES hallmarks struck to the underside of the bowl are all very clear.
