About the Item
Annamese Blue and White Ceramic Box, Chu Dau kiln, Vietnam, circa 1500. A globular form with concave depression on center of the flat lid, decorated with flower blossom on center surrounded by petals and lappets alternating with tendrils and water plants, the side panels alternating with waves and leafy tendrils, glazed overall except for the countersunk footed base. Minor glaze wear and marine encrustations otherwise fine condition. 1-7/8 in. high x 2-5/8 in. in diameter. (48 x 66mm) 4 oz. (104g.) 15th/16th Century.
