About the Item

A finely potted Chinese porcelain bowl, decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with elegantly scrolling lotus motifs and classic fretwork borders. The design is executed with clarity and precision, capturing the refined aesthetic of early Ming dynasty porcelain. The base bears a six-character – most likely apocryphal – Chenghua mark in a double circle. While this reign mark pays homage to the revered porcelain of the 15th century, the bowl is most likely a later Qing dynasty (possibly Kangxi period, 1662–1722) or Republic period (early 20th century) tribute piece — a common practice among skilled kiln artisans aiming to emulate the elegance of Ming prototypes.
