About the Item

A stunning pair antique Chinese Dehua Blanc de Chine porcelain lotus flower dishes dating from the 17th century and probably made in the early Kangxi reign around 1670. The finely made dishes are of square form standing raised on a narrow square formed unglazed foot with slightly recessed bases and are of shallow form with raised flared rims finely molded with cross hatch patterning around a central relief molded lotus flower head. The dishes have a crisp white glazed finish and neither is marked. Both are in good condition with light wear associated with age and use with minor roughs to edges and making irregularities as common with early pieces. Provenance: Acquired from a wonderful and choice collection of small cabinet pieces many of which we are currently offering on 1stdibs. Originally purchased from a Chinese specialist dealer in the Netherlands.
