About the Item

Decorative plate in ceramic realized by Giuseppe Rossicone in the 1960s. Numbered (27/120) and signed by the author. In his 50 years of activity Giuseppe Rossicone has involved numerous artists of great value known nationally and internationally, in the adventure of ceramics. This collaboration has resulted over time in the production of decorative objects of great aesthetic impact and considerable suggestion. In fact, in our century it was Picasso, with his inexhaustible vitality of experimentation, who brought back the interest of artists on the expressive resources of ceramics. And so, following the example of the great Catalan, many contemporary artists have dedicated themselves to this ancient discipline with the mediation of a few and wise experts in the process of cooking and color transformation. They are the artists gathered in this production: different personalities by generation and by tendency that find in the encounter with the material the concrete sense of expression. For some of them, already celebrated in the field of painting and sculpture, it means rediscovering in contact with the earth the ancestral taste of figuration. The success of this unique collaboration is presented in these sites. Giuseppe Rossicone lives and works in Milan. He won numerous national and international competitions with sculptures and ceramics he created. He has exhibited successfully in several solo shows in Italy and abroad.
