Chinese Export Porcelain Plate with Judgement of Paris Scene Circa 1750
Located in Katonah, NY
An 18th-century Chinese export porcelain plate showing the Judgment of Paris. The delicately painted figures derive from a painting by Jean Paul Rubens. Made during the Qianlong Reign, circa 1750, the plate shows the goddesses Venus, Minerva, and Juno on one side and Paris on the other side. Charged by Jupiter to pick the most beautiful of the three, Paris selects Venus and awards her the golden apple. The scene shows Rubens' version of idealized feminine beauty. The rim of the plate is decorated with a rose-red flower band. Dimensions: 9 inches diameter Condition: Excellent Price: $900 Background This dish was made exclusively for the European market based on the well-known Greek story from Homer, in which Paris, the son of the King of Troy, had to choose between several Goddesses to decide which one of them was the most beautiful. According to Greek and Roman mythology, picking Venus as the most beautiful of the three goddesses...

Doulton & Co. 19th Century Sink with Wall Brackets
By Royal Doulton
Located in Wormelow, Herefordshire
A Doulton & Co late 19th century sink with cast iron wall brackets, from the Simon Kirby Museum of Bathroom Sanitaryware collection. Dating to circa 1890, this antique sink has a graceful form with an elegant, shaped splash back and moulded soap dishes. With some light wear, this beautiful antique sink will look stunning in the bathroom of a Victorian townhouse or a similarly themed vintage ensuite. The Simon Kirby Museum of Bathroom Sanitaryware Sanitaryware extraordinaire and enthusiast Simon Kirby was the proud owner of a rare and impressive collection of antique toilets, basins and baths. Until 2016 Kirby was the managing director of Thomas Crapper & Co; he spent more than 40 years carefully sourcing these specialist pieces, making it his vocation to ensure such rare and valuable sanitaryware was saved and preserved, creating what was known as the Thomas Crapper Museum. Over the years, the company museum has not been open to the public, with only a few history enthusiasts and keen customers having been invited to view. Names such as Thomas Crapper, George Jennings, Shanks, Doulton and Co and Twyfords form part of this outstanding collection that demonstrates the development of sanitaryware over the centuries. Although Kirby sold the iconic Thomas Crapper company nearly ten years ago, he remains an expert in the history of the ‘smallest room’ and now serves as a consultant to the Royal Household. Here at UK Architectural Heritage Ltd...

Elephant & Monkey Coffee Pot
By Punch Shabalala
Located in North Miami, FL
This captivating Elephant & Monkey Coffee Pot by Ardmore Ceramics is a true testament to the remarkable artistry of South Africa. Hand-sculpted with precision by the skilled hands of Thabo Mbhele and brought to life with vibrant colors by the talented Punch Shabalala, this coffee pot is a fusion of creativity and craftsmanship. Punch was born in 1969 in the Champagne Valley of the KwaZulu-Natal Drakensberg. She had the good fortune, when she was still a child, to be befriended by her cousin, Bonnie Ntshalintshali, the legendary first artist at Ardmore. Punch’s intense love of drawing and painting found expression during her school years, and as she lived with her parents on the Ardmore farm, she was exposed to the creative work of many of her friends and family. She joined Fée Halsted and Ardmore Ceramic Art at the age of 20. Inspired by her colleagues, Punch soon developed her own special style, expertly blending flowers, insects, birds and animals into an exotic tapestry...
