About the Item

All six bowls are raised on a circular foot and richly decorated with hand painted enamels depicting floral designs in an Imari palette of cobalt, vermillion & gilt, against alternating panels of cobalt & white beneath gilt latticework. Each bowl is fitted with an overlapping lid with a raised circular knop centred by hand painted enamel & gilt marks for Arita Hizen. The bowls undersides are decorated with a repeating band of geometric lappet motifs in cobalt blue, one centred with Arita chop marks. Dimensions, 2.5” high (3.75” with lids) x 4.75 diameter (5.25” with lids).
