About the Item

This is a set of beautiful, all original, rare, 19th-early 20th century Ming style Chinese antique window screens. The simple, elegant design is timeless. The main section of the screen is formed by a small cube design, which are created by joining custom cut pieces of wood using tenons and mortises, an incredibly painstaking process. The screens still have their original pegs, carved with plum blossoms on the ends. Such screens were used in early 19th century as windows. Judging from the elaborate handiwork and the exquisitely carved flowers, they were from a lady's private room. Can be used on either sides, these wonderful pieces will elevate your design to a new level. In remarkable, original condition. Dimensions are for each.
