A gorgeous four-panel Showa Period Japanese Byobu folding screen depicting a nature landscape scene with a two wild geese frolicking among the blossoming spring flowers as another colorful bird flies away. The vibrant, rich colors and beautiful hand-painted detail of each goose, bird in flight, blooming flowers and surrounding fauna really makes this quite an attractive work.
Original decorative period brass hardware adds another wonderful touch.
Signed (in black ink) and sealed (in red) by the artist.
Likely from the mid to late Showa period (1926-1989).
A beautiful, engaging, and special work. Would be a great addition to any Japanese or Asian art/screen collection or make for an eye catching stand alone accent artwork in almost any setting whether used as a room divider or hung on the wall as a work of art.
