About the Item

Set of Three Hand-Painted Japanese Watercolor Panels depicting falconry scenes, dating from the early 20th century. Each vertical panel features a meticulously rendered falcon perched on traditional wooden stands adorned with falconry cords and tethers. The birds are portrayed with remarkable realism and precision, reflecting the high skill of the artist and the cultural reverence for falconry in Japan. The feathers are painted with delicate brushwork, creating a lifelike appearance, while the raptors' intense yellow eyes and sharply hooked beaks convey strength and alertness. Backgrounds have warm gold-tone washes characteristic of traditional Japanese scroll painting. Panels are framed in minimalist black lacquered wood with protective brass corner mounts. Panels make an ideal set when placed in classical Asian interiors and eclectic modern settings.
