Amazing 19th century Japanese Meiji period four-panel byobu screen featuring painted panels depicting egrets, heron, pheasants, songbirds, and an owl. Painted with ink and natural color pigments on silk paper with dramatic patinated gold leaf borders. Each painting bears a Kano school urn shaped seal signed by artist in the the style and manner of "Tsunenobu" a famous kano artist. The paintings are set in a lacquered wood frame with a dark silk brocade border. Impressive paintings with intricate details and fine brushwork. From an estate in Beverly Hills, CA.
