About the Item
Beautifully weathered Japanese Showa period four-panel byobu screen depicting a persimmon tree in the fall. Ink and natural color pigments on light gold silk background. Made in the Nihonga school with Rinpa school influence and techniques. The screen has an aged patina that add to its character and a dark espresso silk brocade border. Signed by artist Shushin with a seal on the left side. From an estate in the Napa Valley, CA.
