Six-panel folding screen, made of painted paper, embellished with gold dust and gold leaf, depicting a formal scene inspired by the Tales of Genji. The composition depicts three aristocratic figures, dressed in elegant traditional Japanese clothes, seated on an ivory background, surrounded by golden clouds. Period: Meiji late 19th century. Dimensions: 172 x 379 cm. Condition: Excellent. There is slight wear on the lacquer frame.
