A netsuke of a monkey seating in a leisurely manner, extremely realistically carved with a great expression on his face,the body hair is finely incised in incredible details.
It has superb dark color and very fine patina.
Design and artistry of the piece are consistent with early style netsuke, imbued with the directness and vigor of an object created for everyday use.
A stunning and powerful piece.
