About the Item

This large polychromed wood figure from southeast Asia dates to the mid-19th century and depicts a male attendant or entertainer. Hand-carved by a skilled artisan, the wooden figure is dressed in a vest and cloth pants and wears a traditional pointed headdress. He's carved with an expressive, smiling face and stands atop a rocky formation with a jaunty posture. Remnants of pigment suggest that the sculpture was once accented with vivid colors and decorative patterns. Now beautifully worn with time, this impressive statue brings storied history and rich texture to any space. Additional Dimensions: Base: 14"W x 12"D
