A magnificent example of Japanese textile artistry, this vintage maru obi dates from the Taisho to early Showa period (circa 1920–1950). Woven in luxurious silk, it features a richly detailed brocade design with mythological dragons encircled by flames and stylized clouds—symbols of strength, protection, and imperial authority in Japanese culture.
The opulent gold and beige ground is accented with bold tones of red, green, black, and purple, showcasing intricate weaving techniques and vibrant color contrasts. Hexagonal panels with floral motifs in gold and black add structure and visual rhythm to the piece. Measuring 341 cm in length and 32 cm in width, this maru obi was traditionally worn for formal kimono occasions and would have wrapped fully around the waist.

One of a kind Pichhavai painting of Krishna with female Gopis dancing, the composition is enclosed in a lush green forest and the colors of the dresses play off against the vegetative forms, adding a lively pattern to the whole composition green and black border with stylized floral motifs on a blue ground, border composed of meandering leafy vines and multicolored flowers.
A Pichhavai painting depicting Krishna, represented in multiple places with female Gopis dancing and offering, great colors, the composition is enclosed in a lush green forest and the colors of the dresses in yellow and oranges play off against the vegetative forms, adding a lively pattern to the whole floral composition, with a colorful Gopis and worshipers. A beautiful antique early 20th century Pichhavai painting depicting Krishna represented in multiple places with Gopi dancing. This piece is all hand painted in pastel colors. It is believed that Krishna enchants the world, but Radha enchants even him. Therefore, she is the supreme goddess of all and together they are called as Radha-Krishna.

Museum quality collectible antique hand embroidered Islamic Art textile called Susani or Suzani.
Very fine art work embroidered with silk thread in many shades of green were used (sacred color in Islam it is the color of Paradise), and shades of pink from light pink to red to fuchsia. The yarns are organic vegetable dyed.
The piece was made in different pieces that were put together.
This antique Islamic folk art piece was embroidered in the city of Bokhara, on the Silk Road.
The uses are limitless however, they are often used as wall hangings, table covers, sofa cover throw, bed spreads and upholstery fabric.
A similar Susani is on display at the Museum of Islamic Art in Shangri LA Doris Duke Home is Hawai.

Condition: There were some repair on the piece. the piece is not lined, shows some wear.
