Antique Javanese Silk Batik Slendang (Selendang). A shoulder cloth length of compact hand spun silk imported from China. The diagonal patterned stripes design created by hand in wax resist in Indonesia with vertical stripe band on either end terminating in fringe all rendered in brown and dark blue natural dyes on an off white background.
Minor signs of wear and use, otherwise excellent condition. Warp 109 in. Weft 21.5 in. (277 x 54.5cm)
