Hand-blown glass charger, aquamarine with concentric rings of polychrome murrhines by Anzolo Fuga for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M)., Murano Italy, 1955-60. Hand-blowing a glass charger of this size and complexity is extremely difficult. Reference: Anzolo Fuga, Murano Glass Artist, Designs for A.V.E.M. published in 2005 by Acanthus Press. Various models throughout showing the use of polychrome murrhines. Provenance: This piece was purchased directly from A.V.E.M. in 2001 as part of a large collection of pieces stored there from the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s.
