About the Item

This exquisite Art Nouveau vase by Émile Gallé features acid-etched clematis flowers and leaves in warm brown and amber tones over a yellow ground. The design is meticulously carved in cameo glass, creating depth and movement as the flowers and leaves gently across the rounded surface. Gallé, a master of botanical symbolism, captures ethereal essence with striking craftsmanship and fluidity of form. Signed “Gallé” near the base, the vase is a testament to the maker’s refined aesthetic and the technical brilliance of the École de Nancy. In good condition with minor signs of age and light surface wear, consistent with its early 20th-century origin. Chip in the mouth of the vase observed - see photos. Some scratches consistent with age and use. A timeless collector's piece—where floral poetry meets glass artistry.
