From Wedgwood, a dark Portland Blue Jasperware plate from the Pallas collection, circa 1970s. Jasperware, introduced by Josiah Wedgwood in the 1770s, is a type of unglazed stoneware known for its matte finish and applied Neoclassical motifs. A discontinued piece showing an angel blowing two whistles, applied in a creamy white on a deep blue stoneware ground. A Neo-classical design with a floral border. 6.75 inches in diameter x .50 inches deep. Showing makers marks. In very good condition.
