Early 19th Century Masons Ironstone Plate in Ragged Rose Pattern, Circa 1830

$373.24

About

This Ironstone pottery large dinner plate was made by the Mason's factory at Lane Delph, Staffordshire, England and is decorated in the Ragged Rose Pattern, fully stamped and dating to the 19th Century, Circa 1830 This is a rare pattern. The design is one of Mason's chinoiserie influenced floral patterns called Ragged Rose, which shows a central rose surrounded by a rich border pattern with flower sprigs, scrolls and intricate border designs. This pattern was produced in different colour-ways with richly hand painted over-glaze enamels. This plate has many colours including green, blue, red, orange, yellow and puce all in varying shades and with additional hand gilding. The pattern is illustrated on Page 47 of a Guide to Mason's Patent Ironstone Patterns, circa 1813-1848, produced by The Mason's Collectors Club. The base has a printed Mason's round crown mark in red, indicating a date of circa 1830.
