About the Item

Wall panel composed of a very rare group of 6 ceramic tiles designed in 1960 by Gio Ponti for Joo Ceramiche Milano, "diamond" model, fire-red in white aluminum frame. The whole panel measures about cm. 55 x cm. 45 , thickness cm 4 (ask us for exact measurements). The "diamond" model tiles were famous in the 1960s thanks to the collaboration between Gio Ponti and Ceramica joo of Milan, and were used in many of the architect's achievements as a cladding for exterior facades, thanks to their ability to reflect and refract the sun's rays, creating a special effect, capable of making any building on which they were placed shiny and resplendent. They are very rare in that those that still exist are firmly anchored to the buildings; those that have been replaced over the decades have obviously been destroyed by the fury of man. We came into possession of a large deposit of tiles from the period, never used, of different patterns and colors, which we now make available to collectors and amateurs, as well as to scholars of Gio Ponti's genius. In addition to the photographs we took of our models, we have included a photograph taken from the Gio Ponti Archive, "Gio Ponti Archives" website with the watermark "gio Ponti," proving their authenticity. We have the same realization in blue, white and red in our store, It is a unique opportunity to have an original piece of the great Italian designer's production at a very low cost and great scenic effect, great for a gift or to use in your own home. It will be delivered exactly what you see in the picture, in excellent condition, with only light marks due to the incidence of time and slight obvious factory marks.
