Large 17th Century Delft dish Chinoiserie blue and white Delftware Charger Material: Delft, earthenware, pottery. Design: Ming Dynasty, Wanli style, Chinoiserie Style: Ming, William and Mary - Louis XIV Baroque, Antique, Asian antique, Oriental Origin: Netherlands, Delft 17th century Colors: Blue and white Decor: Chinoiserie, Chinese Wanli style known as "kraakdish" Description: Large 17th Century Delft dish blue and white. This Delft Chinoiserie is a made after the Chinese Wanli dish The border with large panels with a figure alternated with stylized tulips separated by narrow panels and in the center a landscape with a figure. Diameter: 13.4 inches - 34 cm Condition: The dish has at the rim glaze loss, chips and superficial wear which is typical of this type of Delftware. Delftware or Delft pottery is also known as Delft Blue. Delftware includes pottery objects of all descriptions such figurines, plates, vases and other ornamental forms and tiles. The start of the Delft style was around 1600. the most highly regarded period of production is about 1640–1740. Delftware continues to be produced. Arround 1640 Delft potters began using personal monograms and distinctive factory marks. Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries Delftware was a major industry, exporting all over Europe
