In the form of a seated boy holding a birdcage with a bird inside.
In greens, blues, pink and manganese on a cream blue-white ground.
Simply a wonderfully rare piece of 18th century figural Delft pottery!

It is in overall fair, as-pictured, used estate condition.
Condition Details:
There is a repaired section to the base, restoration and overpaint to the boy's hands and cage (and some residual glue at the base of the cage's feet), some typical fritting, flakes, and spots of loss to the glaze throughout, and some rubbing and losses to the glaze here and there throughout, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
