S. Fielding & Co. English Majolica Cream/Turquoise Seaweed Oyster Plate
About the Item
A six-well majolica glazed oyster plate by S. Fielding & Co. Ltd., Stoke-on-Trent, England, circa 1878. Turquoise oyster wells surround a center condiment well, all on a molded bed of creamy yellow seaweed. A chocolate brown nautical rope border encircles the center well and the outer rim.
The verso is glazed in a watery ‘oyster gray’ with six raised scallop shell shaped feet.
