French Fin De Siecle Glass Scent Bottle and Stopper
About the Item
A very finely made French hand blown glass Fin De Siecle scent bottle and stopper decorated with vine leaves and dating from the second half of the 19th century. This small yet very finely made body probably originates from one of the renowned French glass makers and is cylindrical bottle shape with a small narrow raised top and is decorated with a trailing vine leaves in a low relief rough cast white finish, probably glass with a decorative white border beneath with a simple applied gilded outline with further gilded patterning around the top rim and stopper. Made in a very dark, probably blue glass the bottle has a black appearance and has a polished pontil to the base and is not marked.
In good condition with wear commensurate with age and use.
