About the Item

Glass Artwork in Murano Glass By Renato Toso - Fratelli Toso Artwork - Musicali ''Musicali'' Sculpture and Magazine/Paper holder from 1968 Venice Biennale made by Renato Toso of Fratelli Toso This is a Fratelli Toso Glasswork, an artistic expression made as a folded glass made as a melodic wave, a great object to watch at ad very useful as a card and magazine holder on a desk or a table . Designed and made in 1966, this is a very rare piece to find, it has been exhibited to the 1968 to the Biennale international art fair in Venice Founded in 1854, Fratelli Toso was one of the main glassworks that were responsible for the revival and rebirth of the art of glassmaking on the island of Murano in the second half of the 19th century, as an active part of an important renewal process. In the first decades of its activity, production was based mainly on the imitation of the glass art of the past, but starting in the early twentieth century the production of blown and classic glass was joined by the rediscovery of murrina, which was destined to become the true trademark of Fratelli Toso. Today it has become an exhibition space that preserves a vast collection of art glass made during the twentieth century and its historical archive. Rare Murano Sculpture - Modern Murano Art - Handblown Murano Glass Unusual, attractive and heavy Murano glass sculptural block. This uncommon decorative piece looks like a crystal rock, but is crafted in Murano glass as visible from the tiny bubble inside. Two faces are grinded flat, while the sides are polished but organic, fluid and irregular. The aquamarine hue of the clear glass is similar to that used by Max Ingrand in most of his works for Fontana Arte and Saint Gobain. Very big, it’s the perfect addition for a curated interior...
