About the Item

A fine 49-piece Meissen porcelain dinner service in a rare purple/puce color, including 10 10-inch dinner plates, 12 9-inch luncheon plates, 12 6.25-inch bread plates, 9 soup bowls (2 inch height x 9.5-inch diameter), 1 oval serving dish (14-inch x 10-inch), 2 oval serving dishes (17-inch x 12.5-inch), 1 oval serving dish (10.5-inch x 7.5-in), gravy boat w/ attached under plate (3.5-inch H x 9.5-inch W x 6-inch D), and 1 covered handled tureen (9.5-inch H x 14-inch W x 9-inch D). Meissen crossed swords mark, with factory seconds lines. Dates to the late 19th or early 20th century in very good overall condition, with a few chips on dinner plates and bases, otherwise no cracks or crazing visible. One handle on the tureen has been repaired. A wonderful dinner service in a rare color! Update: Five additional bread plates (for a total of 12) were added after the initial group photo was taken (see last photo added).

    Repaired: tureen handle repair. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor structural damages. Minor fading. Very good overall condition, with a few chips on dinner plates and bases, otherwise no cracks or crazing visible, just light wear commensurate with age and use. One handle on the tureen has been repaired.
