19th Century Haviland & Co. Limoges Portrait Plate of Anne of Austria, Queen of France H&Co., France, 1888–1896 Signed lower right 'E. Furlaud', inscribed  'Anne d' Autriche' Retailed by Dillon Wheat & Hatcher Co. Wheeling W.V. An exquisite 19th-century Haviland & Co. Limoges Portrait Plate is a rare work, highlighting the workmanship and artistic elegance of the renowned Haviland & Co. Limoges H&Co. from France. Made between 1888 and 1896, this work is a testament to the rich history of Haviland & Co. Limoges porcelain. The plate features a draped muse on the left side and a cartouche presenting the Queen, Anne of Austria, Queen of France (1601-1666), adorned with jewels and a regal crown. The elaborate gilt-cobalt enameled border adds opulence, framing the central scene with intricate details. The plate is signed lower right by the artist, 'E. Furlaud,' adding to the masterwork. An interesting historical note is the retailer of Dillon Wheat & Hatcher Co. of Wheeling, West Virginia. This connection adds a layer of provenance and history to this objet'd'art.
